Reminiscent of a gentrified country hotel, the recently refurbished hotel Spencer will charm you with its white linen tables, a roaring fire on winter days and always, good wholesome food, carefully prepared and impressively presented.

Owners Garry & Robert Edgley have injected life and vigour into the dining room. Garry brings his years of experience as a chef with All Nations, Café Noir and Burnham Beeches to Hotel Spencer. They source produce from small suppliers for Chef Toby Quinn to work his magic with.

There might be a roasted loin of lamb with an apple and herb farce, a slow-braised veal osso buco or a baby snapper, pan-fried with chermoula. The classics are there too. Why not try an excellent rump, an aged T-bone of beef from Warnambool, or Hotel Spencer's legendary pies?

It's a great place to catch up with friends before the footy, for drinks, lunch or dinner. Oh, and don't forget their extensive wine list, a huge hit with both regulars and critics alike.

All in all, when it calls for an occasion that requires the full gastronomic and liquid experience, few places compare.
